Two Tip Tuesday – Changes

YES, it has been a while since I have written any quilty news and tips. I need to start with personal changes. We have a contract on our beautiful home in Massachusetts and are building a log home in Texas. I’ll share progress photos of the log home another week. We have been 22 years in MA, much longer than we ever thought. Our yard has been inspiration for many quilting tips through the years. This is one of my favorites…

I will dearly miss the friends I made. Quilting has been a great way to meet people in each new place I have lived. Joining a quilt guild, actually I joined two guilds, kept me busy. I’ve shared stories, laughs, tears and lots of fabric. The first person I met when I moved to MA was a quilt shop owner. Terri welcomed me into her quilt group. I even taught classes for her before she closed the shop. The BEST TIP I could ever give…..find a quilt group! You’ll have an instant connection with quilting anywhere in the world you may go!!

I have had a little time to sew/quilt. My nephew and his beautiful wife are expecting and I made the Woodland theme quilt shown below.

The simplicity of this quilt really showed off the woodland fabrics. It shows what I have often said, SECOND TIP: you don’t need a fancy pattern to show off wonderful fabrics! Keep it simple and let the theme shine through!

To my MA quilty friends, I’ll be back. To all my wonderful followers, I’m still here and quilting. Things are a bit hectic and moving has been and needs to be my focus right now. I will continue to post, teach, and vend at shows!!! Two Tip Tuesday is not going away, just has to take a back seat for a while. I’ll “see” you soon right back here!

in quilting,

Debbie
